1. Walking-handicapped persons
2. Wheelchair bound handicapped persons

The above signs indicate that the particular place where any of these signs are posted, is:

• reserved for that class of persons, OR
• recommended for that class of persons, OR
• some form of assistance is available at that place for that particular class of persons

All markings and signages should be visible and prominent by day or by night. They are useful not only for handicapped persons, but also for able-bodied persons so that they do not inadvertently occupy or use the facilities reserved for the handicapped. For instance, it is important to mark reserved parking areas prominently on the floor surface in addition to clearly visible sign posts, so that no valid person parks his vehicle inadvertently in the reserved area.
